The Value of C-Level Social Media

Can’t get buy-in from your top brass on the whole social media thing? Here’s some evidence supporting the idea that not only should they champion social media, but that they themselves should be participating.

89% of respondents to a recent survey said that “CEOs who participate in social media can build better connections” with customers.

85% believe they can build better connections with employees.

There was also overwhelming support for the idea that C-level social media activity leads to better communication (78%) and better brand image. (71%)

We’ll offer the caveat that the survey was conducted by BRANDfog, which is a social media consulting firm, but even with their obvious bent in favor of social media, the findings seem pretty strong. The full survey is available here.

So go forth armed with some solid statistics to bolster your recommendations for social media’s value.
