First, don’t doubt the size and growth of smartphones. 8% of all digital traffic comes from smartphones right now and by the end of the year, there will be more active smartphones than feature phones.
Consumers are becoming more comfortable with their smartphone’s capabilities, even putting their money where their thumbs are. Mobile commerce users are up from 23% in 2010 to 35% this year, with projections over 40% by 2014. (US $10 billion this year; projections of US $25 billion for 2015.)
