Mobile Development May Get Easier

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

Is developing apps for the iPhone about to get easier? Cult of Mac reports that Apple may be working on an WYSIWYG-type authoring tool for iOS that would let non-programmers create apps.

The tools sounds as if it might be similar conceptually to WordPress – templates and other tools would make basic development accessible to the masses, but you’d still need to know your way around some coding to fully customize your app. The engine in this case is JavaScript.

More exciting would be a tool that makes it easier to program once and publish many – platforms that is. Not that Apple would ever develop such a thing, but it would be wonderful not to have to code separately for iOS, Android and now, the Windows mobile platform.
