Great visual depiction of how content marketing / digital marketing is moving beyond the search engine, courtesy of InboundWriter.
Social media continues to grow as a force in marketing, both for B2B and B2C marketers. And the search engines have responded. As the infographic points out, Google’s latest algorithm updates increase emphasis on original content, frequent updates, and useful information.
Some other highlights:
- Google’s index of web pages has tripled in the past 2 years, but Twitter’s activity has grown roughly eight times in that same period.
- Fewer people today (61%) rely on search engines as the primary way to find a site than did in 2004, when 83% did.
The most interesting bit of data was the relationship between keyword length and conversion rates.
There’s a lot of info in the infographic. Well worth an extended look.
