One note – our usual note – these are fun to look at, and the tool at the link above is even more fun to play with, but we can’t overstate the importance of doing your own dang analytics! These are good stats to know when you’re getting started, but knowing your own audience’s behavior is a whole lot more valuable.
First, platforms. Bit of a drop in desktop usage, bit of a rise in mobile usage and not much change in tablets. Consoles … what are we 13 year old boys?
Screen resolutions aren’t much of a surprise, though you should look at the number of bars here and have pity on your web developer. Responsive design can be a bear if you’re not doing it right …
Top browsers in the US. This combines all versions of each browser into a single bar, both for releases (IE7, 8, 9, etc.) and platforms. (Mac, Windows, etc.) No surprises here.
Social media sites. These two graphics show both Facebooks continued dominance and Tumblr’s near-meteoric rise over the past 6 months or so.
