For what may be my last post of 2011, here’s a link to a nice infographic on the state of digital marketing in 2011 along with my thoughts on what this might mean for you as a content marketer. The infographic is from Deep Dish Digital.
Some interesting nuggets about how marketers are using and benefitting from social media, SEO and PPC advertising.
SEO is the most important tool for most marketers in the survey, on both the B2B and B2C sides. I’m curious how they define that, and how content generation fits into those efforts.
Similarly with social media, where LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter are the big focus. What marketers are Tweeting and posting about – and what’s been most effective at generating leads?
Regardless, I’ll take it as good news that digital marketing budgets look like they’ll increase in 2012.
And it’s nice to see that 62% of marketers are interested in learning more about overall cross-promotional digital strategy. Integrating your efforts across all media, online and off, is going to help you succeed as much as any individual channel, so it’s great that this will be a big part of the conversation in the coming year.
Happy New Year everybody. Best of luck for a peaceful and prosperous 2012.
